This assignment was to practice typography and design with typefaces. Using only InDesign, I had to create an invitation for an event with only using up to two colors (black included), no more than three typefaces, no photos or illustrations, no type effects, use of hierarchy within the text, and good use of proximity and alignment. I decided to make an invitation for my dog, Beaux's, future birthday party later this year. I added the real date of his next birthday and provided the time and location of where it may be held. I used lines to help block off information and provide a sense of grouping for every form of information available. I chose a yellow-colored background since yellow is mostly correlated to happy things, and I used a dimmed version of it so as not to disrupt the readability of the text. I provided a list of gifts he may enjoy to enhance the authenticity of this invitation project as well as an address to the party.
